We work with our clients by providing three types of legal services: legal consulting for companies engaged in cross-border transactions and investment; international arbitration and litigation in arbitral tribunals throughout the world, United States courts, and Brazilian courts; and resolution of domestic issues in United States courts.

Our international dispute resolution practice includes experience in international securities litigation, international franchising agreements, cross-border distributorships and agency contracts, international purchase and sale contracts, commodities contracts, protection of intellectual property, leasing contracts, securities litigation, reinsurance disputes, and oil and gas arbitration and litigation.  We have served clients in a number of sectors, including international trade, hydroelectric and renewable energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, construction, transportation, hospitality, port construction and operating activities, medical equipment and supplies, financial, real estate, and intellectual property.

Our domestic dispute resolution practice includes serving clients in franchise disputes, securities matters, real estate disputes, representation in appellate matters, litigating employment disputes, defending tort claims, resolving issues arising from the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and handling landlord/tenant issues.  In addition, we represent clients in regulatory matters before agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration.

GS also provides advice for companies looking to invest in the United States and Latin America.  This can include business start-up and development; drafting documents necessary for the international purchase and sale of goods and real estate, infrastructure finance and development, and asset protection through trusts and offshore companies; and managing litigation and arbitration in other countries and states.

The firm is located in downtown Miami with a global network of partners to assist clients throughout the world.

GS professionals have a deep academic involvement.  Mr. Gomm Santos teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, and Mr. Smith is a guest lecturer at Faculdades de Curitiba in Curitiba, Brazil.
