Joining two past and current members of the Brazilian Supreme Court, Mauricio Gomm spoke alongside meaning of the leading lights in the Brazilian arbitration community at a seminar entitled “International Seminar on Arbitration: Internationalization of the Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration of CIESP/FIESP.” The event took place on May 27, 2013, at the Center for Industry of the State of São Paulo, one of the leading business groups in Brazil. Katherine Sanoja Helps Lead Fight Against Anti-Shariah Law Bill

Teaming up with the Legislative Committee of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar, Katherine was one of the lead authors of the white paper opposing SB 58, which was an adaptation of a paper Katherine will publish in the FIU Law Review. The proposal created national attention, and its defeat was a top priority of many international trade and religious groups. The bill died in the Florida Senate on the last day of the legislative session.

As part of its initiative to promote international arbitration in the Americas, the Organization of American States (OAS) brought together experts from throughout the region for a private event aimed at capacity building for the judiciary in relation to international arbitration and the treaties ratified by OAS member states.
